Happy 5th Birthday Emma!

Emma celebrated her big 5th birthday with four parties: one at school, one at home with just our little family, one at Memere's with the rest of the family, and one with her friends at an indoor playground. The birthday girl had endless amounts of cake, presents and fun. This was truly one to remember!

Party #1: She wanted homemade pizzas for her birthday dinner. Can you see the 5?
We got Emma's Lego Cinderella castle together that night.

Meanwhile, back at the Bevs ...

Emma and Annie had a great weekend with Memere, Poppy and Aunt Lolo in the snow. Once we got back into our home, school was out for the entire week and work was closed for a couple of days, so we had to find lots of things to do indoors. Annie and Mommy were both sick with colds, so it was actually nice to have forced recuperation time.

Murphy was very tolerant of the kids

Alex got the girls on the evening news with Doug Hill

After a few days inside, the girls started going a little crazy. Here's Annie "walking" Poppy.
Chris had a big job ahead of him when we got back to our neighborhood.

Snowy Getaway

Chris and I received a gift card for a weekend at Savage River Lodge from Keith and Michele. We decided to make reservations in January to celebrate Chris' birthday, but what a weekend we picked! The biggest snow storm in years decided to hit the mid-Atlantic. Despite the weather, we made it there and back safe and sound and the girls had a fun-filled weekend with Memere, Poppy and Aunt Lolo.

Our cabin right after the snow started coming down

Cozy!

Best drink ever: a warm Apple Pie at the bar in the lodge

Our in-cabin dinner Friday night. Delicious!
Lots of time to play games, do crosswords, and in Chris' case, paint!

Full snow gear was a must while it was coming down.

Coming back from the lodge Saturday night. It was hard getting inside!

A view of the lodge from one of the snow covered trails.

Chris went snowshoeing Sunday morning when the snow had stopped.

We had a lot of digging to do!

Quincy BRUNCH 2016

We changed things up a little this year and decided to make our annual dinner a brunch and to have it at our house. The kids had a great time and all the adults had some time to catch up. It's been too long! Brunch was delicious and Keith & Michele made us some really great drinks. Looking forward to our next get-together!

Not sure what happened to Annie in this picture but she's clearly unhappy about something
